
Buried deep inside legislation from the EPA called Phase 2 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standards and Fuel Efficiency Standards for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Engines and Vehicles was a rule that seemingly would have made a large number of racecars illegal. After outcry from the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association, better known as SEMA, and pressure from Republican lawmakers, the race-banning language will be removed from the the EPA’s legislation.
